Outside the Box Challenge

From March 1-May 1, we're getting outside of our boxes to try new foods, exercises, and other healthy activities. Follow our progress as we post about how we're meeting each week's new challenge.

  • Sugar free?

    Like some of the other people that have posted, I don’t use much added sugars. I never add white granulated sugar to foods, I find that kind of crazy. I use maple syrup when I eat waffles, sometimes I make honey and lemon tea, and when I have coffee, I add lots of sugar, but I rarely drink coffee.

    My problem lies more to eating sugary foods. I LOVE chocolate, candy, ice cream, etc. So for the challenge I cut out sugary junk foods completely. At least for today.

    It felt good to know that I hadn’t eaten anything full of sugar today, but I’d never be able to cut it out completely. I love chocolate way too much for that. But as always, it was a good experience. :)
