Outside the Box Challenge

From March 1-May 1, we're getting outside of our boxes to try new foods, exercises, and other healthy activities. Follow our progress as we post about how we're meeting each week's new challenge.

  • Is it over already?

    Hard to believe that the Outside the Box challenge is almost over!  So much fun!

    The hardest challenge for me was definitely the “The Don’t Pour Some Sugar on Me Test”.  It was hard because I really like sugar (especially in my tea!) and its one of the few things in my diet I never think about giving up.  Plus, it was hard to schedule: I didn’t want to do it when we would be eating at other people’s homes or on the days that we were traveling (I like to enjoy vacation!).  But I did it—and it wasn’t as bad as I expected.

    The easiest challenge for me was “The Frontier Girl Test”.  I’m always collecting recipes to do things from scratch that I used to buy—I love knowing what’s in my food and I love to cook, so its a natural fit.  I’m glad the test came up, because I’d never made cornbread, and now I don’t think I’ll buy the mix again!
